Timothee Chalamet in Marty Supreme

A24 studio’s has dropped the trailer for what is termed one of the year’s cinematic curiosities, Marty Supreme featuring Timothee Chalamet (A Complete Unknown).

Written by Josh Safdie (Uncut Gems) and Ronald Bronstein (Frownland), the movie, set in the world of 1950s ping pong culture tells the story of Marty Mauser (Chalamet), a young man with a dream no one respects, who goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness. A ping pong player  journey from playing for bets in Manhattan to winning 22 major titles and becoming the oldest to win a national racket sport competition at 67.

The movie features Timothee Chalamet as Marty, Gwyneth Paltrow as Carol Dunne, Tyler The Creator, magician Penn Jillette, Fran Drescher, Sandra Bernhard, and filmmaker Abel Ferrara and others.

Sources indicate that the project draws loose inspiration from the story of pro ping pong player Marty Reisman, though not confirmed.

The film is to be released in the United States on Christamas day, 25 December, 2025.
