LGA Chairman Arrested Over Plot To Kill Benue Speaker

One of the Local Government Chairman in Benue State has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force alongside another suspect for alleged involvement in the assassination plot of Aondona Hycenth Dajoh, speaker of Benue State House of Assembly.

In a preliminary investigation conducted, the Public Relations Officer in Abuja Command, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the LGA chairman contracted someone to kill the speaker.

According to the statement operatives of the Force Intelligence Department – Intelligence Response Team, swung into action after receiving a credible tip-off about the planned assassination.

Adejobi said the two suspects are presently in police custody and are cooperating with the investigators.

Adding further the PPRO restated police commitment in upholding the safety and security of citizens and public officials.
