After months of sitting on the petition case brought by aggrieved parties to Justice Haruna Tsammani-led panel at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, Nigerians await its final judgement today with anxiety and tension.

The presidency had on Sunday, September 3 stated that President Bola Tinubu would travel to India for a G-20 Summit and coincidentally hours later  PEPT announced the date to deliver judgment in petitions filed against the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

And more interesting the judgement delivery would be televised live.

It could be a coincidence that the tribunal fixed the judgement on a date the President would be away from the country but Nigerians are waiting for the panel to deliver its verdict.

With available reports on Monday, September 4, when PETP announced the date for its ruling the Department of State Services, DSS, that same day disclosed in a statement that it had uncovered plans by some elements in parts of the country to stage violent protests to discredit the Federal Government.
