Jacob Zuma Eyes Presidential Seat In South Africa

South Africa’s Electoral Court on Tuesday ruled that Former South African President Jacob Zuma has been cleared by the South Africa Electoral Court to participate in the country’s forthcoming elections.

After his tenure as President, Zuma was sentenced to 15 months in jail in 2021 for not appearing before the court over cases of corruption during his tenure.

As a convict the constitution of South Africa does not allow Zuma to contest for an election.

Being cleared by the court on Tuesday, Zuma running under the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, a political party he joined last year leaving the African National Congress party he once led would stand a chance to contest and be elected president of South Africa.
