The Governor of Ekiti State and chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF), Kayode Fayemi has said that insecurity in the nation is not limited to the North.

Speaking on Sunday on Channels Television, Fayemi stated that there’s a connection between the banditry in the North and the Kidnapping in the South.

“Insurgency is not limited to Borno State. We will be making a mistake if we do not draw a correlation between what is going on in Borno State and what is happening in other parts of the country – banditry, kidnapping, militancy, they are inextricably intertwined. Some of the insurgents that escaped from the Boko Haram territory are the ones prosecuting the banditry in the North-West, some of them are involved in the kidnapping in the South-West.

To curb insecurity in the nation, Governor Fayemi called on the Federal government to do anything that will help the nation overcome insecurity challenges stating that more powers be given to state governments to handle security in their domain.
