Imo Magistrate Court Set Ablaze By Gunmen

A section of the magistrate court in Owerri, Imo state capital, have been set ablaze on Sunday by some unknown gunmen.

This came barely 24 hours after a building at the Imo State High Court in Orlu was burnt by hoodlums.

The magistrate’s court is located within the premises of the high court.

According to a source who spoke with newsmen said the suspects came with explosives and targeted a section of the building within the compound, and sensitive court materials and documents were burnt.

As of Sunday when newsmen visited the scene, smoke was still coming out of the building.

Mike Abattam, the police spokesman of the state has confirmed the incident, and that the command has begun an investigation to arrest those involved.
