Ifeanyi Okowa Receive Awards From World Bank

The Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, has said contrary to malicious criticisms by some politicians, his administration’s prudent fiscal and transparent governance profile has been vindicated and acknowledged by the World Bank.

Okowa stated this while receiving awards for Excellent Performance on Fiscal Transparency and Accountability, Very Good Performances on Efficiency of Public Expenditure, Overall Performance in SFTAS and Debt Sustainability, from the Bank at Government House, Asaba the state capital.

According to him the prudent management of state’s resources has made Delta and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, as the only states that recorded very infinitesimal increase in debts while many other states doubled their debt stocks.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Finance, Fidelis Tilije, has commended Okowa for providing support and the freedom for the States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability, SFTAS, steering committee to implement policies and procedures that ensured the state to meet all requirements attached in the 13 result areas.
