I Will Campaign For John Dumelo Even As An NPP Member, Actor Prince Osei

Popular Ghanaian actor and supporter of the New Patriotic Party, Prince David Osei has said he would be supporting fellow actor turned politician, John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

The actor speaking in an interview said his decision to support his colleague despite being a member of the ruling party, NPP, is because they have failed to meet the needs of the constituency.

Osei said all attempts made to speak with Lydia Seyran Alhassan the seating member of parliament concerning issues affecting students of the University of Ghana all fell on deaf ears.

“Personally it will not be shocking if you see me on a platform campaigning for John to win the Ayawaso seat even though he is NDC. I am NDC but I would support John. You shouldn’t be alarmed if that happens because I feel like when people go all out for you, you don’t take them for granted. I stood on that platform and got a lot of insults because of Maa Lydia.

“At a point, I sent a message to her PA that some of these Legon students are going through a lot, I have been trying to support. You are the MP so hear them, but they never replied,” Osei said.

Lydia Alhassan will face John Dumelo in the 2024 parliament if she wins the NPP primaries that will be held on 20th January 2024.
