Gov Sheriff gives grant to visually impaired

The Delta state Government under the MORE Grant Scheme,has given N150,000 grant each to 50 visually impaired persons and 20 irregular migrations and survivals of trafficking to help support their small scale businesses and reinstate them back into the society.

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl-Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, who presented the cheques to the selected 70 Special category of persons, at Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat complex in Asaba the state capital, said the grant is given to help ameliorate the sufferings of the people.

Speaking on behalf of the visually impaired persons, the Chairman of the Nigerian Association for the Blind, Delta state chapter, Edirin Edison, expressed gratitude to state government for reaching out to them and promised to invest the given funds into their respective businesses.
