Gov Otti Suspend Commissioner Of Health In Abia State

In line with transparency and accountability to the people of Abia State, Governor Alex Otti has approved the suspension of the Commissioner of Health in the state, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo over an alleged misconduct of office.

A statement by the Commissioner For Information and Culture in the state Prince Okey Kanu on Tuesday, revealed that an investigation will be conducted to ascertain the allegations leveled against Okoronkwo.

The embattled Commissioner was suspended indefinitely during the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday over financial misconduct.

Part of the statement read “In the light of these developments, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Ifeyinwa Kalu will collaborate with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr Mrs Ngozi Azodo to run the affairs of the Ministry in the interim pending the outcome of further investigations into the allegations against Dr.Ngozi Okoronkwo.”
