The longest singing marathon by an individual has been achieved by Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, a Ghanaian who started the journey on the 24th through the 27th of December 2023.

Afua made up her mind to attempt the song-a-thon even with some wondering why she would decide to engage in such.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum broke the 105 record which was formally held by Sunil from India.

The task Afua took up came with a lot of challenges such as the verification of her songs by GHAMRO, the choice of songs and the cracks in her voice.

The journey for Afua was not an easy one with many criticising her on social media, while others doubted her capabilities and stamina on the sing-a-thon but she was not discouraged.

The terms and conditions of the sing-a-thon were that she could not repeat a song until after 4 hours, also she was not supposed to receive people in her glass cage and she could only take a twenty minutes break after doing 4hours of non-stop singing, but could take five minutes break after doing an hour non-stop.

However, some of the rules were broken but she stood firm looking up to the victory line ahead.
