Fire Guts Canadian Embassy In Abuja

A section of the High Commission of Canada to Nigeria was engulfed in fire today in Abuja.

Reports had it that the fire started from an explosion at the embassy’s power generating plant while repairs were ongoing.

The FCT police spokesperson, Istifanus Bako, confirmed that the situation has been controlled as staff has been evacuated from the building.

The cause of the fire remains unknown but investigation is on by the police force and other security agencies.

The embassy is located at Diplomatic Drive in the central business district (CBD) of the federal capital territory.
