FG approves rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt to Maiduguri Eastern Narrow Gauge railway

The Federal Government has approved $3.2billion contract for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Port Harcourt to Maiduguri Eastern Narrow Gauge railway with new branch lines and transshipment facilities.

The Minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi announced this while briefing Journalists after the weekly the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Minister said approval has also been granted for the construction of a deep seaport in Bonny as well as a railway industrial park in Port Harcourt
