Fake Amoxicillin Capsule Marketer in Police Custody — NAFDAC

The Managing Director of Divine Kings Pharmaceutical Limited, Kingsley Ekeanyanwu, has been arrested by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration following a report on some suspected substandard Deekins Amoxicillin 500mg capsules.

The capsules, which have an adverse effect on patients who used the drug across Nigeria, were swiftly recalled from the market by NAFDAC on Wednesday, the 11th.

However, while updating newsmen about the case on Thursday, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye said Mr. Kingsley is currently in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.

She also stated that the drugs have been taken in for laboratory analysis, while Pharm. Ekene Christopher of Ecomed Pharma Ltd and Mr. Kingsley Ekeanyanwu of Divine Kings Pharmaceutical Ltd have been notified. All those still in possession of the drugs are advised to discard them.
