Five mobile courts have been approved by the Delta State judiciary to prosecute and sanction offenders of environmental laws.

This was made known by Hon. Prince Godwin Ejinyere the Director General of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency, (WUEDA), while hosting the chairman and members of Delta State Waste Management Board, DSWMB in Effurun.

He said the approach of the mobile courts would be slightly different, but refined according to best practices, “to ensure that every resident complied with environmental laws, as offenders who dumped refuse or parked vehicles indiscriminately would be severely penalized within the existing legal framework.”

Adding further, Ejinyere told the Waste Management Board team that he had earlier met with the Private Sector Participants, (PSP) to fashion out ways to achieve effective waste management in the Agency’s mandate areas.

He appreciated the board for its commitment to achieving the development mandate of Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, assuring them of his availability anytime they needed his attention.
