A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Francis Obule (JP) has debunked the prophecy of the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele concerning Delta State upcoming 2023 election accusing Olorugun David Edevbie and Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori governorship aspirants as capable of leading Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the Economic Financial and Crime Commission (EFCC).

Hon. Obule said since the prophecy did not provide any alternative to the names mentioned in his statement it shows that the prophecy is incomplete and should be disregarded, stressing that what Prophet Ayodele said remains a worthless statement capable of creating fears and animosity in the heart of faithful PDP members who have tied their hope to each of the aspirants for a better Delta State.

Comrade Obule affirmed that Olorogun. Edevbie or Oborevwori cannot lead Governor Okowa to EFCC because Olorogun Edevbie has worked with former Governor James Ibori, Dr, Emmanuel Uduaghan and the current Governor Okowa as Commissioner of Finance, and subsequently as Chief of Staff and has held other several top positions both in Europe and Nigeria and he has not betrayed any of them.

He noted that Edevbie worked tirelessly to ensure the success and development of all the administrations where he served, stressing that there was no sign of betrayal and incompetence in his duty as all indications shows that he did very well in his various services.

Comrade Obule insisted that a man like Edevbie cannot invite EFCC to arrest his predecessor after handing over to him when he was part and parcel of the administrations in Delta State from 1999 till date.

Hon. Obule who is also the Delta State Coordinator of PDP mobiliser clearly stated that EFCC must have gathered its information before any governor is arrested, adding that former Governor Ayo Fayose knew that EFCC were coming after him and he prepared for them,  and he was arrested but released later after interrogation.

He said, “Another case study was the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano who handed over to Professor Charles Soludo. The former Governor was arrested by EFCC based on their own information which was not instigated by Professor Soludo. Obiano was arrested, interrogated and later released by EFCC. Obviously EFCC remains the watchdog of every Nigerian holding public office. It was created by former President Olusegun Obasanjo not to witch hunt anybody but to checkmate our public office holders. Edevbie cannot and will not betray Governor Ifeanyi Okowa if given the mandate to lead Delta State come 2023” he added.
