Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party had won with 360,234 votes to defeat all other candidates including his close rival of the APC, Omo-Agege who got 240,229.

Ofehe, a Nigerian in the Diaspora who was in the country for the election said he was disappointed that those meant to protect the process did not do so.

However, addressing journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Ofehe said rather than using the petition tribunal, he would drag Nigeria before the European Union and other international agencies and ensure there are sanctions.

“We cannot have them monitor our elections and at the end of the day, all we do is issue a statement.

“There should be action, this would put pressure on the umpire and other stakeholders to get things right. There is a need for people to be punished, I have already begun the process. I have a lot of evidence to back up my assertions.

“I won’t waste my time using the tribunal. I don’t have to believe in it. But I will help the democratic process of this country by using my international contacts and networks to reach out to the EU and other necessary bodies internationally.

“I am a Nigerian in Diaspora based in the Netherlands. I came here to vote and be voted for but what I saw happened should not be happening in this century. Democracy was for sale. Those who were supposed to protect the process shamefully participated in it.

“This election is fantastically fraudulent, and as a human and political rights activist, I will go anywhere I go globally and have a chance to speak to shame these polls. This is not the democracy I decided to participate in,” he said.
