Court Sentence Fake Udu Lawyer to Six Years in Prison

One Alex Young Vweta Egone has been sentenced to six years of imprisonment for parading himself as a lawyer and deceiving people in Udu and its environs.

On Tuesday, Egone appeared before Magistrate Court 1 in Otor-Udu LGA for impersonating a legal practitioner based on charges of forgery and impersonation.

Egone was arrested by the Udu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on August 2, 2025, and in his possession were found copies of deeds, petitions to various police commands, copies of deeds of conveyance, a forged NBA stamp, and a seal bearing his name and the Supreme Court number of another lawyer.

The fake legal practitioner pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against him and was sent to serve his six-year jail term at Okere Correctional Center.
