The Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, ACOMIN Delta  state chapter, has emphasized on the need for the people of the state to maintain a well kept environment void of stagnant water and ensure the use of mosquito nets to protect family members from Malaria.

The State Programme officer ACOMIN, Austin Uwede, who made the emphasis during the state media meeting on the global fund malaria community led monitoring project, appealed to the public to channel stagnant water and desilt drainages during this wet period to allow free flow of water to the right channel.

Uwede further called on the government to prioritize the health of its citizens by taking swift and decisive action to enhance waste management systems to ensure proper waste disposal.

However, the state Chairman and coordinator of ACOMIN, Greg Sifo, encouraged those living in rural communities to help in maintaining the health centres and protecting government facilities in their area to foster proper usage which according to him, was built and installed for their own benefits.
