Burutu: Soldier,two others die in sea pirates attack

At least three persons including a soldier have been killed during a clash between military operatives and suspected sea pirates in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at Tuomo community on Monday at about 10:30pm.

The incident is currently brewing tension among residents of Tuomo and other neighbouring communities in Burutu.

The hoodlums were said to have launched an attack on a military checkpoint in the community with the aim of dispossessing soldiers attached to the checkpoint of their ammunition.

The gallant soldiers were learnt to have rebelled the gunmen who stormed the area with a speedboat.

Aside the two killed pirates, the soldiers also arrested one of the fleeing gunmen during the attack.
