Burkina Faso has suspended three French nationals residing in the nation over activities of lending comfort and aid to citizens to overthrow the junta government.

This was made known by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a notice dated April 16th, giving details of the alleged activity.

According to the notice, the diplomats, who include two political advisers at the French embassy in Ouagadougou, have been asked to leave the country within 48 hours.

Following the fall of Burkina Faso from France in 2022 under Ibrahim Traoré’s military government, the country has made allies with the Russian government.

The junta government has expelled several French diplomats and also the military base in Burkina Faso.
