Bayelsa Appoints New Deputy Gov

Former Chief of Staff to Governor Douye Diri, Peter Akpe, has been appointed Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State today, Wednesday.

The nomination of Akpe was confirmed during a plenary session by the State House of Assembly to take the lead as deputy.

This comes weeks after the Deputy, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo passed away on December 11, 2025, at the age of 60.
