33 directors under the Ministry of Aviation have been released by Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

The Aviation experts tagged it as a clean sweep and reversal of the last-minute appointments made by former president Muhammadu Buhari under the administration of Senator Hadi Sirika as Aviation Minister.

On May 23, 2023, a week before the expiration of Buhari’s administration, Sirika appointed 33 directors, a new managing director for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

Directorates that were non-existent in the agencies were also created by Sirika.

Six months after their appointment, all the appointees have been sacked in a major shake-up throwing them off balance.

This sack comes a few hours after chief executives of the Aviation agencies were relieved of their appointments without prior knowledge of their impending sack.
