ASUU Rejects Governing Council

The newly governing council members instituted by the Federal government for federal universities in the country have been rejected by the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU.

Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, ASUU national president, said this new list is worse than the old one as this new list consists of old politicians rather than technocrats.

Speaking further, the ASUU president revealed that looking at the list you will see most of them are retired politicians, answering honourable this and honourable that.

In his words, Osodeke asks, what does that tell us? ” That is how terrible the thing has become. And we can’t run our universities like this if we truly want genuine development to take place.”
