Arms Supplier to Bandits Arrested in Warri

The fight against kidnapping and other forms of violence in Delta State is reshaping the face of the state. With the directives from the State Commissioner, Abaniwonda Olufemi, multiple arrests have been made, and millions have been recovered.
In a press briefing on Wednesday in Asaba, the CP disclosed that the police force, following credible intelligence from the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), Abuja, apprehended a female suspect, Jamila Abubakar, at Conoil Filling Station along the Warri–Patani Road, Effurun, Delta State.
The sum of N550,000 was found in
Jamila’s possession of proceeds from firearms trafficking has come under investigation. A 31-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim, who had been on the police watch list for supplying weapons to bandits in northernmost Nigeria, was arrested in the Niger-Cat area of Warri.
Different forms of ammunition were recovered from Ahmed, which led to other hideouts in Ughelli-Warri, before the Beta Glass company, where sophisticated weapons were buried in the bush.
Ibrahim has been linked to high-profile kidnappings and killings in Ughelli and its environs, alongside other suspects apprehended by the police team.
