It’s becoming alarming with the high rate of building collapse in Anambra State and sanctions yet to be melted on the developers and owners of the properties according to the state law.

Another two-storey building was reported to have collapsed on Thursday, at the Eke Amawbia Market in Awka, with many feared dead.

According to eyewitnesses the building collapse was attributed to substandard equipment as the construction work was compromised.

Early this year, a two-storey building under construction by the state Government collapsed at the Ochanja market with many casualties recorded.

Some residents therefore called on Governor Charles Soludo to do the needful cause if it were to be an individual’s property, it would have been clamped down.
