American Singer Joyce Sims, Dies at 63

The 63-year-old American rhythm and blues singer/songwriter, Joyce Sims, born in Rochester, New York, is dead. passed away on October 15.

Her death which occurred on October 15 was confirmed by events promoter CJ Carlos in a post on his Facebook page.

He wrote, “Having spoken to her immediate family tonight, it’s with a heavy heart that I post this news. Joyce Sims has passed away. Joyce was an amazing singer-songwriter who had so many hits in the 80s.”

The cause of Sims’ death has not been revealed. Two of her biggest hits, Come Into My Life and (You Are My) All And All, were produced by DJ/remixer Kurtis Mantronik.

‘You Are My’ ‘All And All’ was Sims’ first hit single in 1986. It peaked at number 16 on the UK Official charts and number six on the US Dance Club Songs chart.

Her follow-up single, Come Into My Life, was her biggest hit, which stood out at number seven in the UK and number 10 on the US R&B chart in 1987. It was also a hit in Europe, making charts in Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland, west Germany and the Netherlands.

Singer Sims released four studio albums including her debut ‘Come Into My Life which was certified gold in the United Kingdom.

Her most recent album, Love Songs, was released in 2014. It features a collaboration titled Could This Be Love with Maxi Priest.

Sims’ other hits include Lifetime Love, I Surrender and Crazy Love, with performing artists like Snoop Dogg and Angie Stone sampling her work.
