Abuja Father Beat Daughter’s Teacher

A primary school teacher in Abuja, Sekinat Adedeji was beaten by her pupil’s father for allegedly flogging his daughter in school.

Narrating what transpired, teacher Sekinat revealed that Karima Muhammad Jimeta a basic 3 pupil was disturbing with other classmates, and was asked to kneel down as punishment.

She explained that Karima insulted her by pointing five fingers at her, saying ‘wanka’ which means your mother, and she then used a small rule to beat her leg.

At the close of school when the pupil’s father Muhammad Jemita came to pick her, the daughter narrated what happened at 12:30 pm, that was how crisis broke out at Aces Nursery, Primary and Secondary School.

The teacher maintained that the pupil is not always serious with her studies and also disrespectful to teachers.

A parent also narrating the incident, Magdalene Ukuedojor said Mr Jemita slapped the teacher a nursing mother till her face was swollen and other teachers were pleading with him but he refused.

However, Mr Jemita explained that he had earlier reported to the school’s management weeks back and found marks on his daughter’s legs which made him retaliate.

Management of the school is tet to respond to the alleged assault.
