Abducted Teachers and Students Still in Captivity – Oyo Government Denies Fake Release

The Oyo State government has debunked claims circulating on the internet that the abducted teachers and students from Oriire LGA have been released.

The video went viral on Wednesday, but Abayomi Fagbenro, the Special Adviser on Security to the Oyo State Governor, stated that it was untrue, as efforts are still being made to release the captives.

The abducted teachers and pupils have been in captivity for days since last week Friday, with one of the teachers beheaded. However, the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, announced the deployment of more detectives from the Force Headquarters in Abuja to collaborate with the joint security team to secure their release.
