Controversies have been trailing the movie ‘A Very Dirty December,’ produced by actress Ini Edo, as the Christian Association of Nigeria condemned it as an insult to Christianity, whereas the National Film and Video Censors Board has defended her.

In a post on X, the board revealed that the approval of the Nollywood film was granted after a thorough review.

In the statement signed by the Executive Director of NFVCB, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, it was stated that the movie title was only judged out of context, as the film clearly interprets metaphorically rather than literally.

Adding further, Husseini explained that the film was not meant to mock the nativity and birth of Jesus Christ nor the beliefs of Christians.
