President Bola Tinubu has issued a direct directive to the heads of Nigeria’s security agencies to eliminate all terrorist and bandit camps operating across the country and ensure the immediate rescue of all abducted persons.
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), disclosed this on Thursday while addressing State House correspondents following a high-level national security meeting presided over by the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Musa stated that President Tinubu instructed security forces to intensify kinetic operations nationwide, dismantle criminal enclaves, and ensure an atmosphere of safety for citizens to exercise their franchise in the elections scheduled for January.
The Defence Minister noted that the security review meeting, attended by service chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies, evaluated ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations, resulting in revised tactical mandates to restore stability across all geopolitical zones.
