Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on judges and legal practitioners across the state to consistently uphold justice, personal integrity, and the rule of law in their professional duties.

Speaking on Monday at a thanksgiving Mass marking the official commencement of the 2026/2027 Legal Year in Delta State, held at Emmanuel the Saviour Catholic Church in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori urged judicial officers to resist external influences, favoritism, and individual interests when dispensing justice.

Oborevwori emphasized that an independent judiciary remains indispensable to protecting citizens’ fundamental rights, resolving societal disputes, and sustaining public confidence in peaceful, lawful channels of dispute resolution.

The governor commended members of the bench and bar for their resilience and commitment to the administration of justice despite the operational challenges encountered during the preceding judicial year.
