NANS Proposes N200 Yearly Dues From Students As Criteria For NYSC

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in plans to fix its financial problems and how dues are collected, is proposing an annual N200 fee from students, which will stand as a requirement for National Youth Service Mobilization, as students will be mandated to show payment evidence before being mobilized for camp.

This was disclosed by Akinteye Babatunde on Sunday on Facebook, but while making more clarifications on the matter on Monday, he said NANS is looking forward to a system that will enable them to collect dues directly rather than relying on government institutions or student union governments.

He stressed that the N200 is a yearly due that is not meant to burden any student, but the funds will be distributed across NANS’ various structures, including the zonal and state levels, as well as affiliated student bodies.
