Police Arrest Two in Ughelli, Recover Illicit Drugs

Police have intercepted a Toyota Sienna vehicle, recovering large quantities of illicit drugs after the driver abandoned it and ran into the bush during a stop and search along the Ozoro-Oleh expressway.

The substances found inside the vehicle, with registration number FST 242 YK, at about 4 a.m. were codeine, tramadol, swinol, manG, and vega, as the driver had already fled the scene while police officers were searching the vehicle.

According to Delta State PPRO SP Bright Edafe, in a statement on Tuesday, efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing suspect and trace the supplier or distributor.

On the same 14th of June, the Command Anti-Vice Squad (CAVS), Ughelli, in collaboration with members of the Ughelli Vigilante Group, arrested two suspects linked to a series of robbery incidents in Ughelli and surrounding communities.

Acting on the information, the operatives stormed Okorodafe at about 4:30 p.m. and arrested one Moses Francis, 29, who confessed to a robbery attack on Aro Street and led operatives to apprehend Cosmos Erueseke, 26, another gang member.
