Woman Who Faked Her Own Kidnap Arrested in Delta Hotel

The lady from Canada and her siblings created a GoFundMe on social media to raise a ransom of N50 million after their mother was kidnapped along Ikpoba Hill, Edo State. However, they have distanced themselves following findings that the kidnap was fake.

The mother of the children, Mrs. Oluchi, was found at a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State, with her lover, who had staged the fake kidnap to extort money from the family, following an investigation by the police.

The daughter in Canada, Anita, came out on social media to distance herself and her family from their mother’s actions and stated that the law will take its full course. “My mum has been released. My mum is involved in this kidnapping case. I only did what I did to save my mom. The family is in shock. This is not right. This has shattered my family. My dad has some health issues. This is so unfortunate. What did I do wrong?

“My reputation has been ruined. I am at a loss for words. I am so mad. I had no hand in this. I never knew. I only wanted my mother back home. The law will take its course. I am sorry this is happening. I only did what any daughter would do. My family has been shattered,” the daughter said.
