Adelabu’s Sister Kidnappers Are Different From Bush Terrorists – Tinubu Aide
Post created on 2:03 pm
A few days after the kidnapping of former Minister of Works Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and her twin boys, they were rescued on Saturday night following a tip-off that led to the raiding of an apartment in town, where two of the kidnappers were shot.
After their arrest, rumors started circulating that the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who defected from Adebayo Adelabu in the party primaries, was the mastermind behind the kidnapping.
On Sunday, in a statement, the Senator refuted the claims as malicious, aimed at discrediting him in the race, and called on security agencies to unravel the circumstances that led to the abduction of Mrs. John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin boys.
However, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, in a post on X on Sunday, said those comparing the former Minister’s sister’s kidnapping with that of the schoolchildren in Ogbomoso are totally lost.
He went on to clarify that the abduction of Mrs. John-Paul and her children was carried out by kidnappers in town who are copycats and hide their victims in flats, unlike the terrorists parading in the bush.
Ajayi revealed that there’s no discrimination by security agencies and assured that the school children and teachers will be rescued as the government is working around the clock. However, people should be thankful that Adelabu’s sister and children are safe now.
