Following the resignation of former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege from the All Progressives Congress, he has officially joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress to contest for the Delta Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in a statement on Thursday, May 28, stating that consultations from various stakeholders led to this decision due to the mandate entrusted to him in 2019 and the renewed call for effective representation.

Omo-Agege expressed appreciation to key figures within the party, including Senator Seriake Dickson, Senator Moses Cleopas, Peter Obi, and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for their roles in facilitating his entry into the party.
