Bandits Behead Oriire Teacher in Captivity

The latest development regarding the teachers and students abducted by bandits in Oyo has thrown the community into a state of mourning, with the video of Mr. Micheal Oyedokun from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire LGA being beheaded by his abductors.

Oyedokun is among the seven teachers kidnapped along with students from three schools in Oriire LGA on Friday, as families and residents of the victims continue to call on security agencies and the Oyo State Government to intensify rescue operations to secure the release of those still in captivity before more harm befalls everyone.

The video of Oyedokun being tied up and killed after he was forced to speak is sparking various reactions, with Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Seyi Makinde, confirming the gruesome death in a statement on Monday. He said the governor extended his condolences to the victim’s family and assured that his government would explore both kinetic and non-kinetic measures to address the situation.

Furthermore, he stated that six people were said to have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
