Post created on 1:36 pm

While some international groups are condemning the strict bill passed by the lawmakers of Senegal against same-sex relationships, the government is standing firm that the act is against their beliefs and culture.
The Senegalese parliament approved a new law to impose a 10-year jail term on same-sex couples and those promoting homosexuality after a total of 135 MPs voted in favor of the bill, with only three MPs not present.
The bill awaits President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s signature after some arrests have been made regarding the already banned same-sex relationships in Senegal.
