TikToker Mirabel’s Rape Story a Figment of Her Imagination, Police

The TikToker, Mirabel, who had alleged that she was attacked and raped by a stranger who forcibly gained access to her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State, has admitted that her story was false.

Mirabel sparked reactions on social media, with many calling for the prosecution of the stranger who allegedly raped her. However, netizens noticed irregularities in her story, urging the police to investigate further.

Following her ordeal, the Ogun State Police Command, working with social media activist Martins Vincent Otse (VDM), confirmed that Mirabel admitted to the falsehood of her story.

In a phone conversation with VDM, Mirabel admitted that the account she provided was just a figment of her imagination and that she also created a threatening TikTok account to make her claim seem more credible.

“Yes, sir, please help me, I am very sorry,”

“I have been taking drugs, and I was not thinking clearly when I posted the videos.” This was during the confrontation with VDM.

A police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that a Divisional Police Officer and other senior officers were at the hospital where Mirabel was receiving treatment and that she would be taken into custody upon discharge and charged in court.
