Uvwie Task Force Extortion Must Stop, Activist

The rate at which people are being extorted through crooked means has been highlighted by various residents of Uvwie LGA after a woman was extorted by the force.

A victim, Eseoghene, was extorted the sum of three hundred thousand naira by some officials of the Uvwie Council Task Force, which later involved activist Israel Joe following a call by the SSA of Delta State, Ossai Ovie, to investigate the issue.

The human rights activist was able to recover the N300,000 extorted from Eseoghene by the Task Force and handed the money to the rightful owner.

In a statement by the activist, the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council was urged to warn members of his task force against extorting residents and to desist from such criminal acts.
