Ughelli Female Drug Baron in Police Custody

The Ughelli Area Command has arrested one Egbule Isioma, a 52-year-old female drug baron, in Afisere town, opposite the Town Hall.

Isioma, who ran a chemist shop, was raided by the Command on August 29, 2025, alongside three apprentices identified as Mercy John, Favour John, and Amarachi Ngozi.

Following her arrest, a search was conducted at Isioma’s residence, 31 Edile Street, Afisere, where a large quantity of hard drugs was discovered, and efforts are ongoing to track down her suppliers.

According to Bright Edafe, police PRO, Isioma is a major supplier of illicit substances within Ughelli and its environs. During the search, items recovered from her included 355 bottles of CSC Codeine, 57 rolls of 50mg Tramadol capsules, 335 rolls of 100mg Tramadol capsules, 33 rolls of 200mg Super Royal, 540 sachets of Swinol capsules, seven packs of Backwoods, and 16 cups of Canadian liquid cannabis.
