Once again, embattled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, whom the court recently asked to resume her duties at the red chamber, faces another challenge from the House as she has been stripped of her position.

Akpoti, who serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), after being earlier removed from the Chair of the Senate Committee on Local Content leadership role in February, has also been stripped of her current position.

The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has hereby reassigned the position of Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organizations to Senator Aniekan Bassey, who represents Akwa Ibom State.

This new development could greatly impact Akpoti-Uduaghan’s influence within the upper chamber.
