Delta State Government empowers widows living with HIV/AIDS

Delta State Government has empowered 30 widows living with HIV/AIDS, selected from the 25 lgas of the state with grants.

Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Pat Ajudua, on the 6th edition of the occassion on the presentation of grants to selected vulnerable widows, noted that the gesture is aimed at improving the lives of the vulnerable women as according to her, it is the responsibility of government to ensure that those affected receive the necessary psychosocial, health and financial support.

Ajudua further stressed that the grants presentation was designed to provide economic support to boast their businesses believing that by providing these resources, they will be able to improve their health status, livelihoods and those of their families.

The women elated by this gesture, thanked state government for it’s continued support as they promised to utilise the money given them.
