Taraba Residents Cry Out Over High Cost of Sachet Water

Post created on 9:53 am

Residents in Jalingo, Taraba State, are calling on the state government to summon the chairman of the Sachet Water (pure water) Producers Association and investigate the practices of water distribution companies in the state.

This is a result of the frustration experienced from the rising cost of sachet water, which is now sold for N50.

Comparing the prices in Jalingo metropolis with those in neighboring states like Adamawa and Gombe, where a sachet is sold for N20 or two for N50, the residents have deemed it a matter of urgency.

While the exorbitant prices of water are attributed to the government not having a regulated check system on producers in the state, some of the producers blame the high cost on petroleum products, which have led to an increase in the price of materials.
