The winner of the Edo State governorship election, Monday Okpebholo, has been officially sworn into office as the Executive Governor of the State.
The swearing-in ceremony of the governor was conducted by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, alongside his deputy, Dennis Idahosa.
Addressing the people after his oath of office, Okpebholo and his deputy expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead and promised to work tirelessly to advance Edo’s development.
The absence of the outgoing governor, Godwin Obaseki, was noticeable as he did not formally hand over the affairs of the State to his predecessor.
