The suit filed by residents of the Federal Capital Territory demanding an order to stop the swearing in of the then president-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29, for his inability to secure 25% of votes cast on the FCT has been dismissed by the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The suit was dismissed this morning for lack of jurisdiction and the cost of N20m was given to the lawyer, Chucks Nwachukwu to pay.

Additionally, the Court directed that the case file and all processes filed should be transmitted to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee for appropriate disciplinary actions against the lawyer.

The court further gave an injunction that no step should be taken on the matter by the Applicants until the cost awarded is fully paid.

It will be recalled that five residents of the FCT filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja, against the swearing-in ceremony of Bola Tinubu.
