2023: Appeal court validates Ahwinahwi’s candidacy

The Court of Appeal Asaba on Tuesday declared two-time member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi, the authentic Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Candidate for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections.

With this judgement, Hon. Ahwinahwi becomes the candidate of the PDP and the name of Hon. Taleb Tebite will be substituted with his name on INEC website and ballot papers.

This judgement supersedes the previous judgement of the High Court which ordered the replacement of the name of Hon Ahwinahwi with that of Hon. Taleb Tebite.

This judgement has been received with wild jubilation by the people of the Constituency.
