Unknown Assailant Kill CDC Chairman Of Kwale

Following the community leadership battle in Obodougwa-Ogume in Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State, two months ago that led to the burning of 16 houses, it is unclear if the death of the former Community Development Committee, CDC, Chairman, Anselm Oyibo’s death is connected to the tussle.

Reports have it that Oyibo was macheted and set ablaze by an unknown assailant along Kwale-Obiaruku Road where his burnt body and that of his motorcycle were found.

Sources close to the deceased revealed that on Sunday at about 11:30 pm Oyibo got a call and immediately rushed out of his Kwale home, when he was asked where he was going, he replied it was an emergency and would be back.

While leaving his compound on his motorcycle, he placed a call to an unknown person, since Oyibo was married to two wives it was assumed he went to his second wife’s house.

On trying to call him the following morning, the phone rang and later disconnected after the second wife had revealed he was not at her place. It was later information got to the community that someone was dismembered and burnt at the junction.

The killing has been confirmed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe and that investigation is ongoing.
