The state governor of Zamafara State, Dauda Lawal has accused some top individuals in Abuja of infiltrating the judicial system in his state by granting bail to bandits.
The governor revealed the development during the swearing-in of new magistrates in Gusau, urging them to abide by the laws of their profession.
Commending some of the judiciary for their diligence and integrity, Gov Lawal said some bandits leaders who were arrested with weapons were brought before trial but some powerful individuals assured the suspects of their freedom after being arrested.
The suspected bandit leaders have been in communication with the powerful men in Abuja giving them assurances of freedom.
Lawal therefore urged the newly appointed judiciary officials to justify their roles by working for the interest of the state.
